This Week in ALIM we learnt to add by splitting numbers into.
Parts instead of counting on eg.
8+6 is the same as

8+6=8+2=10+4+14

    It's good to learn new counting strategies. Eventually, one - or more - of them will just stick and you won't even realise that you are using it and it works.
